Fall Apple Maple Crisp Pie

November 16, 2017

Here's a delightful Fall Pie that's just in time for Thanksgiving! It's easy to make using a Texas Pure Prepared Pie Crust. It has fresh apples, cinnamon and ginger perfectly balanced with a little lemon and just the right amount of maple. The topping uses our 7-grain baking mix and it comes together in minutes. It's a simple addition to your Thanksgiving meal that adds a ton of country charm.

Fall Apple Maple Crisp Pie

Apple Filling:

5 Granny Smith Apples, peeled, sliced

1 ½ tsp cinnamon

1 tsp ginger

1 tsp lemon or orange zest

2 Tbs. Lemon juice

2 Tbsp. Texas Pure Milling All Purpose flour

2 tsp vanilla

¼ cup maple syrup

Crisp topping:

1 cup Texas Pure 7 Grain and Seed Baking Mix

1/4 cup melted butter

1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

1 Prepared Texas Pure Pie 9 inch Pie Crust

Directions:

Filling: Combine the filling ingredients in a microwave safe bowl and cook on high for 5 minutes. Stir. Cook 2-3 minutes more. Once partially cooked, transfer to 1 9-inch uncooked pie crust.

Crisp topping: In a second bowl, combine the baking mix, melted butter, sugar and spices. Spread the crisp topping over the apple filling.

Bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
