Grandma’s Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

March 22, 2019

Grandma's Oatmeal Raisin Cookies in the cookie jar with cinnamon, nutmeg and all the chewy wholesome goodness of rolled oats are the best thing in the world with a tall glass of cold milk after a long day. They are a welcome hug and a smile that take you back to the warm kitchen of your childhood. They are a tradition worth carrying on. Put on that purple gingham apron and think about that sweet wonderful woman who made them for you as a kid. Or, if you're the grandma, gather the little sweethearts around you and make some memories. Life is short. Give them a legacy of love.

Grandma’s Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

1 1/4 cup butter

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 cup Texas Pure Milling All Purpose Flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

3 cups rolled oats

1 cup raisins

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375°F. Cream butter and sugar until combined. Add eggs and vanilla. In separate bowl combine dry ingredients. Mix the dry ingredients with the wet, just until combined. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 375°F for 10-11 minutes.
